Child labor in Mexico

Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography, similar to our Census Bureau, published results on the country’s child labor practices through 2009. Despite a decrease of 17%, the report shows nearly 3.0Million children between the ages of 5 through 17 are in the workforce, as reported in July.

Eugenio Polgovsky's THE INHERITORS, currently screening at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC, immerses us in the daily lives of these children who, with their families, survive only by their unrelenting labor.

PRESUMED GUILTY now banned in Mexico

As reported by the BBC, the documentary PRESUMED GUILTY, has been pulled from theaters in Mexico.

The ruling provoked a storm of protest and complaints about censorship.

A federal judge ordered today in Mexico the temporary suspension of the screening of the documentary film.
