Chinatown Counterfeiters Are Back in Business After Police Raid
NYPD and agents from the Mayor's Office of Special Enforcement raided three buildings February 26th, 2008 in what is called the “Counterfeit Triangle” in Chinatown, New York City, seizing an estimated $1 million worth of fake designer items. However, as reported by the NY Daily News on February 27th, knockoffs of luxury goods were readily available for purchase only a few hours after the raid.
